in moments of quiet, I'm strangely drawn toward you, but ,well, there haven't been any quiet moments

It's been a long time, long time my friends...um here's a bright idea Eric Alan, why don't you double check see how long it actually HAS been since you last wrote in your LJ and THEN accurratly (misspelled word) gage how long it's been.........................take yer time....................................................Ok it's been a while....February first to be exact. I had just watched Michael Moore's Sicko and it WAS good! I was "moving out" and I had just gotten the matrix.

Jump cut to like 2 months or so later:
-Moved out and I love it!
-Still love newish car!
-Film class not as hectic...
-people in film class coolest people to ever hit planet Earth! Seriously!
-I have made my first "film" on film....that was scary considering I did most of it myself since my crew bailed on me. It came out alright. I think I got a fairly solid story I am excited to see a finished product.
-Summer fast approaches! School is winding down and so is my motivation....no need to fret! I am still on top of it....
-Worried about psy....grade depends ont he tests and well who knows how I did on THOSE fuckers!
-Did I say living in a house on my own with my sister was awesome...cause it is!

Summer plans? I guess I work...and then I work...and work and then work and write and work...oh ya and give into that addiction of summer movies I have!

Can I just give a big fuck ya for Iron Man in less than 2 weeks and Indiana Jones in like a month!

I think I am done...ya....I am done....don't have any long monolouge about my inner thoughts on life or school or love life issues...I am pretty chilled....Consider this a way for you to catch up incase you didn't know what i was up to.

the good days

I stole Stacy's journal style. I am such a fucking thief. :)

-Watched Sicko, that Michael Moore documentary....I enjoyed it very much. Enough said.
-finally saw Midnight Cowboy and one of the best performances by Dustin Hoffman I have EVER seen in film history!
-Went to a party for the premiere of LOST season 4!
-Didn't get any answers answered in the first episode but it's ok!
-Found out I might have more in common with a certain friend than I realized. Just one of those we are int he same boat at the moment therefore we can help one another.
-Stayed up till 4 talking to someone, I havn't done that in a long while and it helped a lot.
-Realized people that care about you are in larger supply than you think. They really are. It's a dark way to see yourself as alone in this world.
-For the first time I felt involved in this whole "I am moving out" business. It felt liberating.
-Love my new car and everything about it!
-the soundtrack for the movie Once has to be one of the greatest soundtracks.....ever.

-I could go on......long list...it would be long.

"At times the world can seem an unfriendly and sinister place, but believe us when we say that there is much more good in it than bad. All you have to do is look hard enough. And what might seem to be a series of unfortunate events may, in fact, be the first steps of a journey."

Cloverfield

Quick note. Saw Cloverfield. Thought it was a very original take on the monster disaster epic and the narrative used was very effective in added to the fear and realism as bringing the audience in to the journey.

It's disappointing it was the first film I have been to that was booed at afterward simply because of the narrative style and artistic choices purposely limited the knowledge given to the audience and kept many aspects of the film ambiguous and in mystery.

I suggest giving Cloverfield it's shot at least. It's a well done piece created by Mr. J.J Abrams. It's dramatic, packed with jolting realism and surprising humor. You get a fun little LOST Season 3 Preview and a Teaser for the new Star Trek Prequel directed by J.J Abrams. I'd say even if you hate Cloverfield by the end it's worth the ticket.

It's amusing when you realized Harry Potter is surrounding your life.

It's kinda enjoyable when your job becomes a normal thing and not...work.

It's rejuvinating to think how vast things are compared to your small problems.

It's funny when you get that one last bloody lip from the punch in the face that can only be delivered from the rejection of a woman.

It's soothing to not care about something you dedicated your life to so very much three months ago.

It's a cool breeze of reality to realize that change is here and you might actually have to grow up for a change.

the fix.

In short, meaning I am not gonna tell a big story attached to this comment, the state gave me a BIG scholarship that basicaly...yes it does...infact give me a full ride to SCC, tuition free and I guess to any film school I would like to continue to after that. So that's that I suppose.

Work is a pain in my ass, and now my manager helps two stores I have to work double...which is what I wanted. It's not a problem, it's just...a challenge...cause I need a breather. I work everyday.

Went tubing with Tess (who came in town for a visit) and Stacy and a bunch of other people....Didn't realize how fun that actually is. You literally sit in a tube for three hours talking....chilling. ha ha.

In general things seem to be going pretty well. Swimingly infact...yes I have alot on my plate, with work, a wedding video, past promises to keep to a Club, setup for college but it's all just good fun anyways.

Summer: Take 1

First weekend, A rush as if everything you wanted to do for the summer I had to get done before I went to Boston.

Boston: Couldn't begin to explain how this chnaged my views and perspectives. I am gonna live in Boston and produce films out of that city or settle down and become a social studies teacher in a small town. Wherever my career is the road is leading back to Beantown. Funny how a fucking week with your family and nearly going insane with them will make you realize the craziest things about life. Something you've acieved or really anything you get to do isn't great until it's achieved or done with those you care about.

The Job: A frikin mess but I am working up. The art of DVD relocationing is a hard one but I manage and I do get to open the store nowadays. They even gave me store keys. Crazy stuff.

Misc: Midnight showings have become a hobby as well as an addiction. It's like cocaine and I can't make it stop. The rush, the costumes and crazy fans. I already have cash lined up for the next four: Evan Almighty, Live Free or Die Hard, Harry Potter, Transformers.
Movies in general have strung back as a leading lady in my life. It came to sad fact that i had seen everything I could possibly want to see, which was a wide list...I hadn't seen two of the movies that were in the theater: Hostel Part II, Surf's Up. I rest my case...I have an addiction.

"you can get what you want or just get old,"

Ya know what I wish, I wish I could stop time and just get everything done I needed now! Unfreeze places I need unfrozen as I go then freeze them back up when i leave. Compartementalize life by freezing and unfreezing it in accordance to when I get whatever it is I need for it done.

I wish I had a natural supply of caffine running through my system. so i was constantly awake for weeks at a time when needed. Better yet I wish we just choose when we had to sleep. Like I'll sleep here...I wish sleep wasn't manditory to keep sane. I wish our bodies didn't start to automatiucally by science start to shut down at their certain times int he night to tell us to sleep. It really sucks to have to fight that with coffee and monsters and say NO I need to stay up and work damn it!

I wish I knew exactly how to make you happy. How to make you smile again. How to make you the happiest you could be. But any attempt probably would only ruin things. I'll just stand at a distance and hope you are better soon.

In better news school is out in like a week and a half...I am thrilled. This next week and a half is like a all out fun week and week from hell! senior picnic, homosexual nazi scene, last minute senior show, yearbook signings, final essay, existentlism, Roberto Benigni, Working less,
Pirates 3, Last Drama Club Meeting and of course graduation.

basic update....

It's said to me that in 30 days this High School thing is over. It's a biting at the teeth to get out of this school sort of thing and at the same time gripping for the memory of thrill I use to have. Not like it's anythign I can do anythign about. It's all over in 30 days. Less now.

In current news. SCC has a new film student and the world has yet another dreamer on their hands taking his vision 24 frames per second. Tune in next August for that journey!

The prequel to this most unprecedented and surprisingly unexpensive educational journey of this coming fall is the more expensive of the seasons. This summer alone between a trip to LA for a John Williams Concert and a trip to the San Diego Comic Con will cost me nearly 1000. This is why Eric Alan works until 1 every night he can. Where you ask? If you havn't been keeping up I am a DVD Re-Location engineer at Hollywood Video. In recent weeks my work has become a calming place. My relationship with the company has been off and on for two years now. We are going pretty steady now, it's getting pretty serious. They asked me to be shift leader. I might move in. I have become pretty calmed and chilled with everything I do at work, compared to other situations with my life such as extra curricular stuff and EVIT. So it's actually a time of relaxtion coming to work. Its an odd senario when your Drama Club and Video Production tasks become so stressful that your job seems to relax you.

I will simply say I never thought the last month of Senior Year would be so stressful. Back to summer though. I do like to think to the future...

Of course I can't forget to mention the more important part of my summer has to be my graduation gift. My trip to Boston with my family. For a week we are staying with relatives and going basically going anywhere I want around the area. Southie, our old home town in New Hampshire, old sights we use to visit. Get in touch with my birth place.

Does anyone else get a rush of cool when you walk into a store or room JUSt as a high energy song starts. I had that moment in Marshall's today. Footloose started as i walked in the door. I felt like I was expected to have a dance number prepared. But alas, I just rythmically walked up and down the aisles lookign at stuff to the beat.
I am NOT drinking any merlot!

I got my acceptance letter to Scottsdale Community College! Not like it's hard to get in there or anything but just to confirm I WILL be studying film at that school is good!

Spring Break, it's here. Interesting to see what I was doing the start of other Spring Breaks. How far I have advanced with relationships since then. It's comforting and it makes you grateful.

I suppose a list is in order or whacky things I need to get done by spring break's end...
Not whacky but surely....Eric things.

-Cops and Robbers (guys seriously that last game failed...big time)
-See 300! I have been hearing the NEW Spider-man 3 trailer with it.
-Re-watch (Gangs of New York, The American President, Goodfellas, The Departed, Moulin Rouge!, Lady in the Water, Down With Love, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, The Girl Next Door,)
-Win an Oscar.
-Burn a certain amount of things to DVD and get them off my computer.

Stacy's cutting her hair...this is an event.

Apparently 300 is amazing...I wouldn't know. but today I shall find out.

Fact is I guess I look like Paul Giamanti with my new shaved face and cut hair. I will take that as a compliment.

I still have Stacy's clown nose.

I work almost zero hours this week! But I still havn't cashed my check from last week.

So I was made this new position at work for a night...where I barely sit up front I just walk around and talk to poeple answer their movie questions and find movies for them. I suppose this is good. Plus fun. I mean I like movies.

Life's like a prequel right now.

Here's a fun trick, take if you will so many things from three years ago and contrast that to things of now. Your situations with people, who those people are. Are you now what you imagined then?

Contrast it from a year ago, then a month ago, then a week, and then contrast it with an hour ago. Are you happy with the way things are now? Truly happy?

....no not just for some, but for everyone....

Here's the story of a man, we shall call him Bob. Bob came home to an empty house. this was commonplace considering it was only 3:30 and his parents both work. He made himself an afternoon snack and worked a little on editing a video for school. He then text his friend's about plans and went for a quick nap...he woke up at 6;41 to discover the house was still vacant, save him and the evil cat klan.
He called his sister and she had no clue where they were. About five minutes later the mother of the house finally checked in at home. "I am coming to pick you up in abotu 20 minutes" quoth the mother.
"Uh, why is that?" quoth Bob.
"Well I need you to drive the Van home since Dad can't."
"Why can't Dad drive the van home?"
"Because he's driving his new Mint Green Camery home thaqt he just bought."
"Oh ok well I'll wait for you then."

In short. Bob gets the van since his Dad bought a new car. In about a year Bob will own the van completely.

Bob is happy.

The Court Date

So I went to the courthouse today to get my court date changed so I have time to actually sign up for a traffic class. I calmly walk in and wait. The other people look really nervous and he calls a few people up and they stumble a bit while talking and he dismisses them and finally calls my name...wrong...I correct him and continue to the front. The lights slam off and a spotlight shimmers on my feet as they clap against the courtroom floor.

"State your case Mr. Luse." The judge said looking over his thin glasses.
I gave a grin off the corner of my mouth and began. In begining to tell my story I only brushed the front floor but as I went on and on into the details of that cold night of the 8th I was jumping up and down on the desks and by the end when i notified his honor I just needed a darn change of court date I was time stepping on the stands.
With a final stop of difiance I jumped down from the stands tossing a copy of my ticket to the secretary. The lights slammed on, but in a full vibrant scarlet red the second I hit the oak courtroom floor. The secretary printed a court date approval sheet and I took my bow in the center, under a fading red light as a single spotlight now streamed down upon my whole self. Coming up from my bow I strode down the aisle and within seconds had the courtroom doors swinging behind me to the beat of my feet tapping down the hall.

Well i met Seth Green...who is Seth Green asks most of you? Scott Evil of the Austin powers films and supporting chracter actor in such movies as Can't Hardly Wait, Rat Race and The Italian Job. He apparently writes comic books and was at Atomic Comis this Wednesday. After Katrina informed of this I got a team together consisting of Frank, Eric Parks and Brian. Along for this journey as well as Brian's friend Tim from work and Freddy from work.

Anywho, it seems to me a bit that Senior year first semester flew by but not without some really good memories. Infact I was thinking the other day while i ate a peanut butter and strawberry all natural jelly sandwich that the year 2006 was pretty good to me.

I am gonna have to say that my new room is kick ass even..."the shit"

also alot of e-mail's on my account are dead e-mails cause I suck at keeping up with e-mail...mailbox full account problems left and right junk mail galore...here's a HAPPY CHRISTMAS!

http://www.elfyourself.com/?userid=d488d47775a88a63329a2e0G06121610

"...never take it seriously, if ya never take it seriosuly, ya never get hurt, ya never get hurt, ya always have fun, and if you ever get lonely, just got to the record store and visit your friends."

"It's in the subtext..."

"This trial... the whole world... it's all... show business."

"I know about art and love, if only because I long for it with every fiber of my being."

"The human heart is still subject to disastrous deceit."

"We are supposed to be righteous. That's a beautiful thing."

"The world moves for love. It kneels before it in awe."

"And I know what I have to do now. I gotta keep breathing. Because tomorrow the sun will rise. Who knows what the tide could bring?"
